CELESTE RODRIGUES // @CELESTERODRIGUESSKINCARE

Meet Celeste! Celeste has been my aesthetician for the past 4 years and she's honestly just such a dope person I had no choice but to keep her in my lil nook of close friends. I adore this woman not only because she keeps my face (and some of your fav famous faces) clear but because she has a heart of gold, she's a workaholic like myself and she is genuinely dedicated to helping people feel better about themselves through her work. Actually I would say that's something all of my Quarantine QT's have in common! I've blabbed enough. Keep reading to get familiar with this gem..

1.) Describe what you do for a living and how you are adjusting to social distancing?

I'm a medical aesthetician and I have my own practice with 4 other aestheticians. I'm used to being in the treatment room on a daily basis and getting Los Angeles glowing. Since the stay at home order has been in place I've definitely had to learn how to make this business work in different ways.

2.) Being your own boss, it can be hard - damn near impossible - to stay motivated during stressful times like these.. What has been your go-to, kick me out of my funky ass mood, ritual or activity during quarantine?

OMG it has been ROUGH! Everyday is either super up or pretty low, but what has helped me the most is making physical lists and writing out my goals. Lists help me really see what it is that I need to do on a daily basis. Crossing off each task just makes me scream "YESSSSS BISHH we are doing thangs!" haha

3.) Describe what a busy/productive day looks like for you these days compared to BC. (Before Covid)

For the most part I'm doing everything on my own now, when I usually have a team helping the front and back end of the business. So from social media, texts, calls, emails, packaging, it's all me now and that's not something I'm used to. It's actually refreshing to all up in all the avenues right now because I get to see where we can improve when we get to go back to the office.

4.) Now describe what a meltdown day looks like! Do you let yourself feel it all or do you push through? We’ve all had them. (I personally had a meltdown week when I first heard the news.)

This is heavy haha. I'm not a very emotional person, I'm pretty tightly wound. I need to feel in control. Covid has made me feel the most out of control I have felt in my business. Think about it, we have structured our businesses just the way we do because this is how it works best and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE what I do. When I'm having a bad day, I can't wait to get to work to make it all better.  So I finally let go, I finally allowed myself to mourn whatever this is that we are experiencing right now. I cried off and on for days, didn't want to get out of bed. It was ROUGH, but I allowed myself to feel all the feels, cry all the tears and said "Ok, now let's get back to work!"

5.) Any challenges or goals, personal or career you’ve given yourself while on lockdown? Or is getting through this shit accomplishment enough? (It is btw.)

I have definitely challenged myself to step out of my comfort zone to adjust to how I can still build my brand and build my business even through this. I hate being on camera, even if it's my own phone and even if it's just me in the room. It's just not something that I personally like doing, but opportunities are coming my way so it's time to get uncomfortably comfortable.

6.) What has been your most favorite thing about this crazy moment in time? Discovered any hidden gems about yourself or your life while having a moment to breathe and reflect?

I've discovered how in a RUSH I always am to do everything. I'm enjoying slowing down and not giving myself any concrete deadlines for things. It feels nice not to feel rushed.

7.) What advice would you offer anyone who is particularly going through it during this isolation period?

It's ok to feel the things you're feeling, you're not alone. Try to go for a walk, call family, call friends. Schedule happy hours with friends. It sounds silly but it really helps.

8.) What are you looking forward to most once the lockdown has been lifted?

Outside of giving myself a full head to toe makeover? haha PEOPLE, I miss people so much. I miss getting together for dinner and drinks, gatherings, socializing.

9.) How difficult has this been for you on a scale of hermit to social butterfly? Do you need the juice of other humans or are you thriving in your lil quarantine cocoon?? Have you been quarantined alone like moi? Or do you have a partner/family around?

I would say middle-ish. As much as I love my ME time, I love my friends and get togethers, love spontaneous dinners and cocktails. I've been quarantined with my 3 year old, so it's been really fun but also really challenging trying to still work from home while also giving her the attention she needs and deserves.

10.) And lastly, any hilarious or embarrassing tidbits you’d like to share are most welcome. For example, did you freak out and buy a years supply of hand sanitizer? Did you get drunk and text an ex lover because you thought the world might be ending or was that just me?

Actually, I started slangin' hand sanitizer like I was dealing drugs LMAO. Hey you gotta keep the hustle going somehow right?
